What is ClawTrackr?

ClawTrackr is an independent community resource dedicated to tracking every meaningful implementation, fork, rewrite, and derivative of the OpenClaw AI assistant gateway software.

The OpenClaw ecosystem grew explosively fast β€” reaching 337,000 GitHub stars and 66,000 forks within just a few months of the November 2025 launch. With that growth came dozens of community rewrites, enterprise distributions, mobile ports, security forks, and regional variants. ClawTrackr exists to map that landscape and make it navigable.

What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw (originally Clawdbot, then Moltbot) is an open-source personal AI assistant gateway created by Austrian developer Peter Steinberger (@steipete). It runs as a local Node.js process on 127.0.0.1:18789 and connects you to 50+ messaging platforms β€” WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Signal, iMessage, WeChat, Matrix, and more β€” all powered by the AI model of your choice.

In February 2026, the project was transferred to the OpenClaw Foundation to ensure its long-term independence.

  • Jan 30, 2026 Renamed again to OpenClaw.
  • Feb 2026 Transferred to the OpenClaw Foundation. Security CVE-2026-25253 (CVSS 8.8) disclosed, triggering wave of security forks.

Data & Accuracy

All data in ClawTrackr was researched and compiled as of March 27, 2026. The OpenClaw ecosystem moves extremely fast β€” new forks and variants appear weekly. Star counts, fork counts, and status labels are approximate and may be outdated.

ClawTrackr is an independent community project and is not affiliated with the OpenClaw Foundation, Anthropic, or any of the projects listed here.

⚠️ Security Note: The npm package @openclaw-ai/openclawai was a malicious impersonator (GhostClaw/GhostLoader RAT) uploaded March 3, 2026 and removed March 10, 2026. Always install the legitimate openclaw package (no scoped prefix).
